Cordele picks up from various farms, supposed to be preloaded drop and hooks, but sometimes the farms get behind so you might have to wait there for it to finish loading.
From the various farms you might be heading to a dairy plant in Laurel MD, Jacksonville, Winter Haven or Orlando FL. I can't recall other places from there as I don't do milk out of there too often.
If you only live 45 mins away I expect they will ask you to leave the truck at the terminal but can't say for sure.

Thank you for your reply! I’ve planned on leaving my truck at the terminal as I have no space to park it at home. The job description said 2500-3000 miles weekly, with your experience with this company would you say that would be accurate? Is there a lot of milk loads?Friend, navypoppop and Tanker_82 Thank this.

Yes you will be hauling Raw milk for the most part from farms to the milk plants and I believe you can expect to run GA Fl AK TN LA SC if memory serves me correctly
Friend, Tanker_82 and Fastnfurious Thank this. -
I’m glad to hear you hired on. It’s been a long time since I went through orientation (2016) so I assume some things are different in 2026. I did my drug screen in advance which eliminated having to wait on the results once I arrived at the terminal. I spent a few hours filling out paperwork, took a road test, and was introduced to everyone at the office. Maybe someone who hired on more recently can chime in on what to expect in current day time.
I’ve always ran OTR at Indian River, but I’ve made the rounds at all of our terminals and the majority of our regional lane customer base at one point in time or another. With regard to the Cordele office, the terminal manager there is a really nice guy and easy to get along with. I’ve pulled dairy loads from that area to Shippensburg, PA, Little Rock, AR, as well as the loads that Redtwin already mentioned. I’ve taken yeast from the Southeast to other parts of the country, too.
I don’t want to speak out of turn or above my pay grade and try confirm what you will “only” be doing. I will let that be between you and the office since I’m not aware of the conversations you had with recruiting. I would assume that if you hired on as regional but are open to doing more and going out farther distances, they will accommodate you when needed.
There are a handful of us on the thread, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you have a question or need help with directions and what not once you’re assigned a truck and on the move.

2,500 to 3,000 miles per week is very accurate at Indian River. Keep in mind that our pay cycles are from midnight Monday to midnight Monday. As an OTR driver, sometimes I will pull a long distance load that might not deliver until a Tuesday morning (just an example). In those situations, I will have “carry over” miles on the following check, but it always equals out to 2,500 to 3,000 miles per week when viewing things from the bigger picture. You might not experience that as much on the regional side (scanning in longer distance assignments that fall into the following pay cycle) but if you do and need the miles on a particular check for financial reasons they can do what is called a “T-Call” for you on a Monday when that happens. All of our offices are easy to work with here if you communicate with them.Last edited: Feb 28, 2026
Fastnfurious and navypoppop Thank this. -
I just realized that I answered a question you were directing at Redtwin about his own experience with the company in my last post. I apologize for overlooking that. I was typing in a hurry before getting back on the road.

Toll road restrictions. I had another driver tell me we are no longer allowed to use the Florida turnpike and a few other toll roads. Has anyone else heard this?.
You think they would send out a QC message or email whenever there is a policy change.Friend Thanks this. -
They sent a fleet message about it on 2-24-2026 at 2:53 PM. Your Qualcomm may have had a glitch. You might try logging out and logging back in or call the IT person in Winter Haven and see if they can reset it on their end. Currently, any portion of the Florida turnpike and 470 in the Denver area is prohibited.Last edited: Mar 3, 2026
