There's always exceptions.....
It's 30* outside and the wind is whipping by pretty hard....
There's a time to idle and then there's times to open the sleeper windows and enjoy the night breeze......
Why Do You Idle?

agreed on the color, I'm in a dark blue 379 and she heats up quick in direct sun light..chicken lights on at night when trucks running also for the same reason don't need some CDL mill yahoo tearing the hood off..
you shoulda told precious to get a hotel if it bothered him that much !! -
Well, we have a different reason..... our chem loads are extremely temp sensitive and are heated by engine coolant being circulated thru the trailer. Every once in awhile I get a "Enviro-Nazi" with more mouth than brains but most know the difference once they see the placcards. Even the "mouths" tend to shut up and go away when you request" that they put it in writing on the BOL.... so that "We have someone to sue when the $150,000 load sets up solid at 75 degrees, plus the cost of a new trailer since you can't get the solid load out of it, plus environment costs of disposing of the now useless trailer full of chemicals, plus "write down your attorney's name so ours can contact him direct".
Enviro Nazis don't like signing for stuff.

Nice boat man. Are those 500 mercury racing engines with #6 drives??? Also who manufactured the boat?
Edit: I know of one companies that have aero spec'd trucks and EPA smart way trailers with full skirts and everything to increase fuel mileage to 8mpg. One is Benny Whitehead Inc. out of NE AL. I was told by a BW driver that Benny himself wants a 8mpg truck and they drive 59mph. If the trucks can not get 8mpg, he'll return them to Freightliner. If the teams go above 8mpg, they get a raise to 65mph. The BW trucks are red 07 Columbias w/ chrome bumpers and sometimes have dual stacks.

Thanks.
Motors are 600hp NA 502 Gen V blocks w/TRS drives. It's an 86 38' Scarab KV Miami Vice LTD repainted by Snap-On when they used it in their Poker Run series. -
Awesome boat. hold on to that scarab as its worth a fortune since Wellcraft stopped making them in 05 I think. Also, my dad has parts on that boat as he was Wellcrafts main person for cabin doors, windshield's etc.. See my pm.

Unfortunately, the market on go fasts is in the crapper. The Vice LTD's are few and far between, so that helps. Not that I'm look'n to sell. Looking at returning it back to it's original Vice scheme.
Will email ya later. Loads ready and clock is tick'n.The Challenger Thanks this. -
I idle to be comfortable. I can't sleep worth a crap if its over 65F. Black 379's get hot in a hurry and seem to hold it well. I don't mind sleeping when its a little cool in the bunk as I keep a sleeping bag rolled at the foot of the bed and just unroll it when I wake up cold, but its tough to get out in the am and start that cold truck when its so comfy under the covers.
Usually shut the "chicken" lights off unless I'm not happy about where or how I have to park.
Really wish I had the screened windows in the bunk instead of the normal vents as I don't like fighting skeeters.
