New Xtreme Step Trailer.
Nut on cage bolt vibrated loose.
Lucky low speed lockup.
Heads up for all: Check your nuts.
Special thanks to the trucker who provided a spare so I could cage the bugger.
And new item added to spares to carry.

One of the first things I did when I bought or was assigned a company trailer is to remove the caging bolts from their holders and put them in my tool box. They lay in the bottom of the little red tool box along with the hammers and wrench roll.
I found that winter salt spray will seize them in the holders after one season and after a second season you MAY be able to remove the nut but the chances of moving the bolt are very small, even with a 3lb hammer.IH Truck Guy, Sons Hero, MACK E-6 and 7 others Thank this. -
Excellent suggestion above.
(But, Somebody has to do it)...... I just checked my nuts, and they're still there.Lumper Humper, CAXPT, Star Rider and 2 others Thank this. -
Another question needs to be asked though. How did the other guy have a spare and where did he get it?Lumper Humper and CAXPT Thank this.
