@rollin coal, I don't know if they are loosening up or not. A friend of mine has a friend who is a trooper and I lucked out and got a level 3 from him. I hate this about the world but it's all in who you know. He didn't even look at my truck, didn't look at my logs. He looked at my cab folder and put it in the system and all my problems seem to have disappeared. It is what it is, but of course I'm thankful.
@Meonthenet, there are lots of ways to make a living in a truck. I choose to stay independent running dry van. Plenty of good work in my area and I'm holding steady at $3pm from middle of last year to present. I am on Highway with a lot of brokers. I dont' love it. It's a choice to keep doing things the way I want to do them. ALL companies are soulless. It's just business.
Highway and companies like them are a response from the market to deal with all the fraud in the industry. Hopefully we're in the middle of a correction with the non-domicile and illegal immigrant crackdowns. We shall see, but stuff like this isn't going away. And it's not just trucking. Every business you deal with is tracking you. If you don't believe it look up dishwashers on your phone and see how quick you start getting dishwasher ads every frreakin' media outlet you visit.
