Oasis Travel Center Robertsdale Al

I was just reading about some of the old Mom &Pop truckstops I used to stop at and found out that the Oasis Travel Center Robertsdale, Al.has become a TA Express. I realize that their service Center has been a TA Truck Service Center for awhile but I haven't been here for a couple years . I wonder how many changes there will be to the building. It was always quite unique inside with the Derailed Diner, fuel desk like a semi flatbed and many gift shop items for sale. If anyone has been here recently I would appreciate some pics and your personal opinions. I am going to plan a trip up that way to experience this remodel first hand. I know alot of drivers do not like TA but try and give it a fair review. At least it is still a truck stop with over 200 truck parking spaces and they don't start charging to park. Thanks drivers

 

I appreciate the update brelin388. I always tried to visit Mom & Pop truckstops when I could but since Covid the Derailed Diner was never th3 same. The whole place was a tourist type of stop, fast food places and the Diner was not as good as it used to be. I have been to a couple of TA Express stops that were very nice, clean and bright. I'm sure alot has to do with the managers and drivers that care enough to be clean and not trash the truck stops

 

Thanks, I read that. I will be curious as to how much TA changes the entire layout of the building. It was set up with the sit down restaurant, fast food, fuel desk and tourist trap areas. If they paved the pot hole yard like I heard they will surely charge just to get back some money. Time will tell.

 

I used to stop every time I was passing thru the area as I always liked the Mom & Pop stops. The Derailed Diner was always a very unique place to sit down and eat. I really did not care for the very large tourist trap store but I was not here for that. I have been to a handful of TA Express stops and I have been impressed by the overall appeal of them. It might be the individual operators of these stops that make it or break it. I can't wait until I am able to visit hopefully this year. If anyone has the opportunity to take some photos it would be very welcome.

 

I was just doing some research into the new owners of the old Oasis Travel Center in Robertsdale,Al., LV Petroleum. I found out that they own almost 50 TA/Petro Travel Centers from East-West and North-South. I had never heard of them before they bought Oasis but that is some serious franchise to be in control of.
