I’ve done reefer my whole career and I’m reading your thread about Caledonia. Thinking about maybe trying tanker but if I stick with reefer Holland seems like good reefer outfit. Long runs and I’ve heard they don’t do to many meat loads, so no sitting around waiting for your load to be ready and sitting the line at beacon waiting for a washout.JohnBoy Thanks this.

Nope no meat loads there. They had an opportunity years ago to get into meat hauling and said nope!!
Only meat i hauled there was lunch meat, and that was an easy on and off. Lots of frozen, dairy and bakery items there.Cobrawastaken, JohnBoy, JForce28 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yeah as @hotrod1653 said, no fresh meat loads at Holland.
I haven't really been doing any sitting around waiting besides one load that had me sitting for a little over 24 hours and the customer wouldn't let me pick up early. There is a good amount of time between delivering a load and picking up the next load sometimes but I use that time to do grocery shopping, get my truck washed, or other things. Always works out for me. And a lot of times I just show up to places early and have been loaded/unloaded early a few times. But again, time between loads only happens sometimes. I picked up my current load on Friday as soon as I woke up and drove over there.Last edited: Mar 9, 2026

Do they get mad if you take more than a ten hour break?

You said Caledonia didn’t like you taking more than a ten though?
