The 70's we had no idea how to drill other than straight down and had no tech to find oil. We now map everything out and have Horizontal drilling and fracing that makes it much cheaper to do. We have so much oil it isn't even a problem worth thinking about if the government stays out of the way on restrictions.

86.67 now. Was 119 before it went down because the strait is back open. Dont worry this won't be Long term at all. Not sure why everyone is in a panic. Iran doesn't even have a Navy and that is the only way they can line the strait to shut it down.

Gatordude and Diesel Dave Thank this.

I went and got a bunch of 5 gal buckets of rotella 15 40 and grease. It’s still at 15.5 bucks a gallon. Can’t imagine that’ll last much longer.

    Gatordude and Oxbow Thank this.

Well, that's not exactly true. They can still hit ships in the Strait with missiles fired from shore. Would it cause an ecological disaster? Yes, but these are rats backed into a corner, they don't care.. Will they be able to successfully hit ships...that's another question, being that as soon as they launch, they would be pinpointed and annihilated, and it may be intercepted as well...which is possible with the tech we have there. So although they have options, other than a navy to mine and block the Straits, so do we, and ours is...ahem...bigger than theirs. :)

They have submarines still. Also it’s the insurance companies who are in the driver’s seat even if the shippers wanted to roll the ships through. None of them will risk that until the insurance binds again. All the Iranians have to do is sink one.

Old useless diesel subs that would be sunk about 5 minutes after they left home port.
