I have to say that so far im impressed with shusters .
They put me in a very nice non smoking non pet truck that is only a year old , so far they are doing everything they said they would and are getting me home .
Alot of my pay at stans was based on bonuses and that isn't the case at shusters so kinda feel I got a raise ...still stay in touch with some people at stans and Morehouse and though the good ole days were good im glad I moved on .
I intend to retire in 3 to 5 years and no way im staying with a company that treats they're drivers poorly at this stage of the game ....I hear things arnt so great at fcc these days either .
My prediction is that fcc will be fine if the market comes back before they are broke but there will be some hard feelings with former drivers and toes they stepped on .
Morehouse from what I hear these days is a world away from my days there and at the age owners are at and with Gerry deceased I wouldn't be surprised to see them cash out .
As for stans well that's a different dynamic...currently they have inept management in place that is creating an environment of employees running out the door from the drivers , shop and office ...they run it like a prison camp although the pay is good .
The management at jack links is being passed down to the next generation and they are going to decide that all the logistics can be handled be a big carrier and they will kick stans to the curb .
Orrrrr as hard as stans pushes they're drivers and especially in bad weather and roads ( that's why I left) they are going to be involved in an ugly accident and end up in a courtroom .
One of those scenarios will probably be they're undoing .

I got off the road just shy of 3 years ago. At times I miss it but I don't think I could go back. I drive a trash truck picking up curbside recycling mainly for the city I live in. I'm one of a few in the sanitation department that can operate every piece of equipment we have so that helps me sometimes. The pay isn't great at $24 an hour but I work between 50-60 hours a week which I'm good with. The benefits and retirement are the best I've ever seen. It pays the bills and all 3 savings accounts are growing so I can't complain. Crazy that this job has been in front of my all my life and I never once thought about trying it. One down side to it is that we only get 3 holidays a year off and we have to come in on Saturday to make it up but at least it's overtime. But the holidays we do work we get paid double time and a half for the first 8 hours and then double overtime for anything after that so I don't mind working most of the holidays. Anyway, I just wanted to post that to let you know that there are other decent local driving jobs besides hauling freight.

Sounds like you found a gem. No place is perfect but only a few years for you to retire so you may have found a keeper also.
