So do you leave your phone in the sleeper, I don’t use mine for much, but I’ll stop at a rest area and look at trucker path to see what’s ahead when I’m getting ready to shutdown for the night

    Friend Thanks this.

I don't have a sleeper, all daycabs at the spot I work...I generally just lay it wherever is convenient, so I can see who's calling in case I need to find a spot to stop and return an important call (my dad is getting up in years and has no one else to call).

I used to keep my connected to my garmin gps and the calls would come across the screen. I stopped doing that though because it killed my phone battery fast.

I suppose I'm still not truly fathoming what is meant by "cryogenics with a private carrier is not trucking." What is meant by that?

Its so different from being OTR or a Freight trucker.

These companies aren't trucking companies. Its one of the first things they'll tell you once you're hired. They just have a transportation division to serve smaller customers.

There's no appointment times, waiting for docks, or finding loads. We make our own product and deliver it directly to customers that use our storage tanks.

You also aren't chasing miles. I average 1700 miles a week. Most of the job is spent loading and off loading.

Safety is huge in cryogenics too. They want to keep their drivers safe unlike other companies.

They treat you like adults and respect decisions you make. Ive worked for fedex and Saia and those two companies cant touch how well Air Products treats me.

I remember when I was finally not in training. I would just put in earbuds and have my phone in my pocket playing music or podcasts

That's a gray area I'm going to stay out of...too good of job to risk it.
