I extend a lot too. At least 15 times a year. Ive done it 3 times in a row the past 3 weeks for the $275 bonus each time. My last paycheck also had a $655 quarterly bonus on it and with the two $275 extension days plus that was over $7,000 gross. Seems like GM drivers do better on quarterly bonus than we do they seem to get a $1,000 a quarter, probably because they get more miles I dunno. Regardless there's a lot of money to be made here if you want to work. My ADP is almost $475 working dayshift.

Another thing people dont realize there's a LOT of internal job opportunities here. A buddy of mine that hired on when I did just got out of the cab taking a plum salaried management position working 4 day weeks, weekends off, making $118K with bonus. Lots of opportunity here for the ambitious..

Rolling Coal: Wow! that is outstanding! Even without the safety bonus, that's still over $3,100 gross per week for 2 weeks daytime pay. The most I made W2 hauling fuel was $3,100 in one week, but that was only one time in the last 3 years, and I had to work 80 hours in one week nighttime for that.

Also, last summer, working a lot of overtime, I put together an $11,000 gross month. The next month the company came out with an email saying they were cutting costs by cutting everybody's hours down to 50-55 hours a week. Nobody was happy with that. The company reached equilibrium at about 60 some hours a week. So I'm grossing at or a little above $2,000 a week.

The thing that I most like about the Walmart schedule is that my boss or the company cannot cut my hours (miles/activities) because it all runs off of EDTs. So if I'm available I can work.

I believe in being safe, efficient, and consistent while working really hard. So once I get the hang of the job (I expect that it will take time) working nights and weekends I should be able to put together a long row of $6,000 bi-weekly checks. And that definitely meets my goals and has me excited.

I was worried that from fuel (I like my job) to Walmart was going to be a lateral move with less home time. However, from what I've learned on this forum and others, it appears that (for my personal goals) Walmart is going to be a big step up for me. I have my phone interview on Monday. Fingers crossed.

If you've got the phone interview you've pretty much got the job. Still have to pass the interview and then onboarding at Seymour to really nail it down but those are easy.

My normal pay period's gross with no extension $ is about $4,700. I don't know too many drivers who extend if they're not paying a bonus but some do. $6,000 pay period's one after another after another after another, $156k + bonus money in a year starting out, that ain't gonna happen.

I have a job offer from WM running on the grocery side. Anyone know how that side of is vs being on the GM side? Is multi stops everyday? Do you run to the same stores everyday? If you're on a 5/3 schedule, is your days off mandatory? Can you work a 6th day, then start again early once your 34 is up or do you need to take 48hrs off before starting again? I'm trying to work as much as possible to pay off debt and bills.

As far as PTO, You can only roll over 10days to the new calendar year? What happens to your remaining PTO is it paid out at the end of the year? What is the max PTO limit if you keep rolling over without taking any PTO days off?

Congrats welcome on board, you can extend every week if you want to, just make sure you get your 34 and the remaining pto gets paid at your adp second check on feb, refer trailer usually go back to the d.c but dry you get to run wild depending on your location. Good mindset you will make a killing here

No, you can't come to work early as soon as your 34 hour reset is done if you extended on a 3 day weekend of your schedule. You come in a couple of hours or an hour before your scheduled gate time, whatever that may be, so you can load your personal stuff in the truck and be rolling out the gate with a load at your gate time.

Having the same gate time every day allows for you to get adequate rest. You won't be running ragged here doing split logs or any of that nonsense. And no-one will ever call you on your off time asking you to either come in early or wait a little while before starting your clock. Your gate time is your gate time. Your off time and rest time is respected and never interrupted.

If you're on a 5-2 schedule and extend for a 6th day you'll end up getting about 36 hours on your day off. If you extend on your 3 day weekend in a 5-2 / 5-3 schedule instead of 84 hours off you'll get 60 hours off. Im not exactly sure about 6-3 schedules as we dont have any of those at my DC but my understanding of them is there's no extending for an extra day if you're on a 6 day schedule, you'll be burning those 70 hours. So if you want to earn extension bonuses don't ever sign up for a 6-3 schedule.

Grocery's good. All of it is. They take good care of drivers here. We just had 3 days of the grill going one of the manager's was cooking chicken and brats for us. Sometimes they do burgers and hotdogs. If we have a really good quarter saftey wise they'll toss ribeyes on the grill. Free coffee all you can drink there's even a Kuerig with free single serves of coffee for that, or hot chocolate. If you have an offer take the job and give it a try. You'll learn all this stuff as you go. Good luck!

Thank you, I been having a really tough time deciding if I should leave the tanker world to pull reefers. But I’m not having any luck with getting onto any fuel hauling companies. So I guess WM is the next best thing to be home every weekend while making $100k+.

As long as you understand your weekend ain't gonna be Saturday and Sunday you'll be good unless you'reon a rotating 5-2 / 5-3. It ain't reefer like what freight haulers doing reefer deal with. It's easy as can be.

I never pulled a reefer before so I don’t know what all goes into it. I already expect not to have sat/sun off for a long time.
