I was reading that reefer loads sit around for hours waiting to get loaded/unloaded at shippers while your clock is ticking. Don’t know if I want to deal with that hurry up and wait hassle again.
-
Yeah that's exactly how pulling reefers is everywhere other than Walmart. You won't be dealing with that kind of BS they've got it together really good with their transportation. The trucks and drivers stay busy moving and everything's on the clock anyways if you do get held up so it ain't a problem. We burn up some clock time and make money doing it.

I understand that the first 45 minutes of wait time at a live unload is not paid. Let's say that the live unload takes 1hr total. That means a pay of $4.25 for one hour. If for example that happens at each location (I know: unlikely but what if...) on a three drop frozen dairy load a driver might be paid 12.75 for three hours of wait time at three different locations each with a 45 minute grace period. Did I understand that scenario correctly?
-
Yes sir your math is good
-
Yes that's how it would work on 3 stops 45 minutes at each one. But you're getting paid $12.75 for every arrive. That covers your first 45 minutes is how Walmart views it. Then you get the other $4.25 if the live unload takes a whole hour. Funny how it works out to $17 like that which is exactly what the hourly wait time pay is.
lual Thanks this. -
Does Walmart recognize 3 years of tanker experience to get hired on with them?
-
They recognize any class A experience.

And good luck tomorrow & Thursday if you're in Seymour right now. Heard some drivers got sent home today.

Passed phone interview. Doing paperwork in order to go to onboarding. But still haven't made it to Seymour yet.
