The most valuable skill I learned in trucking was hearing/feeling the pressure from office people to hurry up, and ALWAYS reacting by slowing down and being 200% certain I had not forgotten or overlooked anything. NOBODY needs to be trained to rush when people say hurry. NOBODY wants their surgeon, airline pilot, dentist to be one of those people. SLOW DOWN other wise you will find yourself taking unnecessary chances on the roads because you are about to be slowed down for this or that reason. You can go too slow a thousand times but you can only go too fast once. Often in bad weather you need to go slower than necessary just to have adequate following distance behind the developing pile of idiots all in a hurry to have their wreck and get it over with.
Weather isn't under anyone's control so you can't fix the problem others MIGHT have because of it. You don't need to answer every request from the office types. When they say hurry it's OK to say nothing or to say 'believe me nobody wants to get this trip finished more than I". I think I said "I promise it will get there as quick as I can safely get it there. NOBODY wants that stuffs in a wreck and often the only way to be certain to avoid the wreck is slow down. It does no good to have a quick accident and be late. A few minutes, hour, or day late is much better for all involved than in a ditch being picked up by a wrecker driver and cops.

I drive for Ruan but I'm on Flex so I change jobs every month. Mission foods in new Brighton Minnesota, worst job ever. And I've done Western Express Express flatbed, dollar general Schneider and also been on a deployment in the middle east as an active duty mechanic.Gearjammin' Penguin, austinmike, hope not dumb twucker and 3 others Thank this.

The side roads I was on today were really bad. The highways were decent for the most part but still patches of death. And 50 miles south of Minneapolis was supposed to be the worst.austinmike, hope not dumb twucker, Siinman and 1 other person Thank this.

The wind was bullying me all day long in Iowa, Nebraska, and Wyoming, it was crazy, again, I'll take 120° heat than the snow/ice and wind all day everyday...
hope not dumb twucker, Siinman and Mega Express Thank this. -
Yeah the wind is a different animal. Just can't predict any gust ever. I don't know if it's just me but I have the hardest time seeing the wind too, it's almost invisible.The_vett, austinmike, tscottme and 3 others Thank this.

Minnesota 511 Travel Information | MnDOT Map will show you the roads.
Most of your route looks like compacted snow on the roadway. You will probably have 35 mph wind gusts, which could be dangerous for you with an empty trailer and slippery conditions.hope not dumb twucker, nextgentrucker and Siinman Thank this.
