I was more pointing out that a lot of these people on the meds are doing it because its easy. Takes discipline to control diet and to excercise consistently.

I lost about 30 lbs. within 4 months. I was doing a short shuttle. In and out of the Truck at least 100 times every 12 hr shift. Sometimes only eating 1 banana. I got down to 190. My tactic was making minor changes to my diet. Instead of going on a diet. It worked. Then I got impatient started fasting, and eating meat only. I planned on a Carnivore diet till I reached 180. Another 10 lbs. My daughter warned me it wasn’t healthy to not eat. I noticed my neck looked aged. More wrinkles on my face. Even started getting chicken wing looking flabby arms. Well, I started doing over night runs again. Started eating carbs, and craving more. Gained 15 lbs in 1 month. Muscle tone came back. Soon I felt like crap again. Anyway, I’m back to my original slow steady diet habits. Currently at 199. Still eyeing that 180. Not so fast. Didn’t gain it overnight. Small changes add up. 1/2 lb. per week is 26lbs. per year. Biggest problem is the visceral fat. It’s like carrying around a 20lb bowling ball in my stomach. That’s what causes fatty liver disease, along with all the nearby organs, resulting in Metabolic Syndrome. A relatively new disease, it’s all caused by ultra processed foods. Stripped of fiber, for shelf life, plus added preservatives, and high fructose corn syrup, which bypasses the full signal. Add modified corn starch for texture, more carbs, and lots of salt. Deadly food that looks and tastes good, at a low price.

Eating more fatty red meat and eggs will raise your body's natural GLP production, giving the same benefits of pharmaceuticals without the risks. Eating less frequently and reducing carbohydrate intake will lower a1c and accelerate the fat loss process. Big Pharma gets rich off people who are either too lazy or too ignorant to make simple lifestyle changes.

Statins are chemically the same as Red Yeast and Rice (RYR) tablets sold as a supplement. Except no side effects with the RYR. Then there is also Resveratrol capsules to improve cholesterol. That is the good stuff in wine and grape skins though it is always better to get something in food than a supplement. Also Matcha Green Tea, nuts ...... Just bought the book The Great Cholesterol Myth, why lowering your cholesterol won't prevent heart disease and the statin-free plan that will.Radman, Feedman, The_vett and 1 other person Thank this.

Ozempic and all the glp1s like it are meant to be taken for life because it does not change bad eating and lifestyle habits. You lose both fat and muscle. But when you stop taking the stuff, you gain back the fat but without the muscle.Rideandrepair, Woobie and hope not dumb twucker Thank this.
