My recap really didn't work out so well for this load. It looked good when I picked up, but it slowly started to look worse as I got closer to Washington. I only made it to Ritzville with the hours I had yesterday which put me about 230 miles away from my first delivery. Since the first delivery was 5am, I had to head out at about 1am to make sure I got there on time. The problem was, I didn't get a single minute of sleep (and trust me, I tried). When I headed out at 1am for Tacoma it was clear very quick that I was too sleepy so I parked again about an hour later. I sent a message to dispatch letting them know and went to sleep for a little less than 4 hours. That was just enough to hold me over so I headed out. Ended up getting there at about 9:45am. They charged a $260 late fee to work me in and I got out of there a little after noon. Holland paid for the late fee with an EFS code though, so at least I didn't have to pay for it. Now my second delivery is scheduled for 8am tomorrow and the other 2 deliveries are TBD at the moment.
Weirdly enough, even with that uncertainty, I got a preplan while I was getting unloaded. I'm picking up a preloaded trailer in Richland, WA going to Sturtevant, WI. 249 empty miles 1883 loaded.Lonesome, navypoppop, drvrtech77 and 3 others Thank this. -
Scratch that. Stop 3 and 4 got rescheduled for Monday so they took the preplan off of me. I see a weekend of videogames in my future.
hope not dumb twucker and Lonesome Thank this. -
This is slowly turning into the worst multi stop load I've ever had, and that's saying something. Multi stop loads are annoying to begin with, even without issues.
On Friday they only rescheduled the 3rd stop and the last was still up in the air. This morning it finally got rescheduled for 11am today. I received a message along with it saying 11am was the only appointment available for them so try to get to the 3rd stop early. I arrived almost an hour early, but the receiver didn't care. I didn't get done until after 2pm. For a 9am appointment. Now they're rescheduling the last stop for tomorrow.
I want to make sure to mention I don't really blame Holland for this. It all started with my lack of hours which caused a lack of sleep (ironic that being limited on my hours caused me to actually be more tired, thanks FMCSA). It just started a snowball that we're still having to deal with. All 4 of these stops are food warehouses so it comes as no surprise that they're being as difficult as possible.Last edited: Mar 16, 2026
Knucklehead, hope not dumb twucker, hotrod1653 and 6 others Thank this. -
Yeah, typical of food warehouses. Guess sometimes you eat the bear and other times the bear eats you.
hope not dumb twucker and Cobrawastaken Thank this. -
Still can't deliver my final stop today. It's now rescheduled for 11am tomorrow. Gotta love food distributors.
hope not dumb twucker, Woobie, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this. -
If it weren't for food distributors everything would be wonderful.hope not dumb twucker Thanks this.

Yeah I've never had any delays of any kind when I did dry van, flatbed, or tanker. Everything other than reefer is perfect and nothing bad ever happens.

It was your hours that tripped you up. I think this is more on your dispatch team than the food distributors. They shouldn't have put that load on you in the first place.
JForce28 and Cobrawastaken Thank this.
