I assume what you say is true. To avoid getting sent home call May, without using your name, ask the Safety Dept if only having your DL or CDL for X months will prevent you being accepted by the insurance carrier. Better to know that answer while you are home than being stubborn/hopeful and getting sent home during orientation. This is something you can prevent by asking the right person the right question. Don't be passive.

It's not common local companies hire newbies but some companies do sometimes. It doesn't cost you anything but time to apply.
