Thank you. Great point.
Assumption is before they start next trip, which can be done once the current one is done.
The idea is that they are going to spend the money no matter what. It's either on the road or in the shop next door.

Well, I don't think you know enough to give us anything we can use. Not to be an ***** it looks like you are looking for a problem for a solution.
I mean the predictability of failures on a truck are just impossible to even come close, there has to be a complicated set of rules and then the data to drive those rules to give even close results is impossible to put into an app.
The usefulness of an app like that would be .... none existed.
What we need is more of a back office system and another system would be rate and lane tracking across different load platforms on the internetTräger Thanks this. -
I thought this is already done!
Isn't there tracking apps ? Different features , platforms , etc .
I must be missing something. -
No app needed. Any trucker working long enough with one good truck, knows it better than it knows wife. A good eye and checking of the rig will reveal problems before they become a problem downgrade.
Träger Thanks this. -
Huge thanks to the group!
Watching the chaos in the fuel market today makes me realize how close I came to a disaster.
Thanks to the advice I received here, I avoided a business move that would have been a total train wreck.
I can’t thank you all enough. -
Too funny.
You want to make an app that can predict failures without ever collecting any information from the trucks using the app, mentioned offering it for free so you would not make any money from it, and the thing that made you realize it would be a disaster is the cost of fuel?
Yes, I would say you are missing something. -
This might be useful if it had access to recall and TSB databases, and if it could also crowdsource data about issues that drivers, O/Os, and mechanics frequently encounter.

People and companies alike don’t follow manufactures suggested maintenance, why would they bother with an app?
when you buy a new car, it comes with a maintenance book that most people never look at. Then when a dealer tells you that you’re due for a specific milage service, they get told no you’re just trying to rip me off.gentleroger Thanks this.
