When you guys buy stuff at auction are there any guarantees that the vehicle you buy has no liens against it or is it just a chance you take? Couple auctions coming up in the next month or 2 and I have need of a bigger truck.

 

How would i go about finding the one thats dumping fuel into cylinder.. id imagine one of the cylinders should be full of fuel?

 

Only way I can think of is running a cutout test. Might see some evidence if you could get a borescope down into the cylinders.

I've ran old injectors on a test stand to check popping pressure and pattern long time ago. Pretty sure an injection shop would do the same except they probably have a way to energize the solenoid. Never actually seen it done though. The last set we sent out 4 passed and were shipped back with a report showing a bunch of information like flow rates and stuff like that.

 

Yeah, run a injector cutout. Cut out 1 at a time till you lose smoke. There's a place in Memphis that can check em. Only place I've used.

There's probably fuel on top all the pistons now that you've pulled the injectors

 

Not real familiar, but any chance that cam gear slipped?

 

I do the same. Either Baker's Diesel in Ogden or Industrial Injection in SLC

 

The auction houses I deal with guarantee title, they'll pull it from the sale if there is any questions about it.

The two I buy from most often are Roller and Associates out of Denver and AMA Auctions in Brush, CO.

 

I'll even unload ya tonight ifn you bring a couple loads of whatever that white stuff is.

 

There got to be a whole train of ddgs in here. 30 feet high.

 

What would symtoms be for that? I was driving along just normal then all of sudden nothing but smoke behind me. Started knocking a little. Shut it down and it wont restart . Oil is diluted with fuel really bad. Open the valve cover and it smells like diesel. No engine codes at all
