You don't have to wonder just ask I was not following a Stevens thread I was using the forum and it just came up.I was curious if anything had changed over the years and actually they seem to be even more of a henhouse now than they were back then.

Thanks Big Rigger...Henhouse, is an interesting way of putting it. Hen Mothers might be more fitting.
I just finished a 3000 mile week.If things continue this way, just maybe my attitude about stevens will improve. Not that it is all that bad now. Just been some ruff changes to deal with, and the lack of communications back in Dallas. But talking with other drivers from other companies, this is common.
Now I get to juggle my log book for the next few days, as I will run up against my 70 monday, and then be getting back partial days for the next 3. Makes it tuff to be productive, but will see what I and "C" can do.
Having been out on the east coast this past week, and always taking parking or lack of parking into consideration when I am out there, I see empty spaces all night at truck stops that used to be full before sundown. The economy is up for me, miles are up for me over last year, but there are fewer trucks out here. -
hiya all. Sitting in Holcomb with a load I was told to deadhead 253 miles to pickup even tho I would be out of hours and had no hope of delivering to MA and NY on time. My 10 hr brk is almost up and still no repower, so I guess I'll start it rolling eastward overnight. Been geting plenty of miles. Enough that I'm nursing the logbook hours. Lots of countryside! lol Well, guess I'll call night safety and put in my trip plan and get the night run speech, check weather ahead and drive the night away!
-
Seems to be that way lately...more freight than we can move the last week. Me, I never run the night shift, will get up at 4am and start, works good for my body. If I was in position to take your load I would,
being one of those gready black truck driving alliance people.
The Power of the Dark Side
i have found from my experience, that a 34 hour reset makes me more productive, than nursing the log book and fighting the hours. I have tried it both ways...and my miles are UP with the resets.. I know it is hard to convince dispatch of this fact, but comparing my miles both ways, I do much better when I force the issue and do a reset. Will see what happens this week after I deliver this Ogden UT load, and be short on hours for 2 days. -
Still on the yard on med hold. I'm on light duty pending an MRI and possible surgery on my knee. If your on the yard stop in and say hi I'm Randall's #####.....
um. I mean runner...lol
-
Sorry to hear you're still on hold and prayers for a good MRI. I started with Millis on Monday and loving it.
Keep us posted on the results! -
mmmmm bad knee, can't drive, but you can walk all over the yard looking for people???? Makes perfect sense to me
Hope the MRI shows you just need to strengthen the tendons again... -
I probably saw you in there today.
I didn't hang around long. just long enough to pay tribute to Randell and get out to America'sBest so I could get a shower.
Maybe tomorrow. I'm starting O2 in the morning. -
Had a rock chip in my windshield for the past 2 months. well it decided to start spreading today, so I call Road Rescue, to find out how they want to handle it. I empty out in the morning in Ogden. Since the crack is out of my vision area, low below the wipers, no problem to wait until later to replace.
Okay I will call after I am empty and hang up. A few minutes later my phone is ringing, Stevens,
I answer, it is safety, how did you crack your windshield???? what are you hiding??? Nothing I answer, a rock chip started spreading, and I will need a new windshield. Oh that makes sense, when did the rock chip happen? I answer months ago, I don't remember when. then his attitude changed.
#### this attitude back in dallas that Drivers are hiding things, and doing what ever the driver please has got to stop!!!
Or maybe, being a driver that works hard, logs honestly, communicates honestly, is the exception today, and Dallas has the right to think the driver is trying to hide things.
With all the accidents, I should not be surprised about the attitude in Dallas. Now the extra stupid safety talks, which will do no good in my opinion, (NOT Humble either), as the drivers that really need them will not listen, and just blow the information off.
Venting and ranting over now. -
Wait until you come back in the yard again.
All the stickers they plaster all thru your truck. Prevent a rollover, no cruise when deadheading. Lights on for safety...geez! you'd think someone has a relative in the label business!
