Gas Up $.20 this morning. Almost $4 now.

    Diesel is $1.50 higher then.

We are in big trouble down here in Aus, diesel has gone from Aud$1.60/litre to $3/litre in 4 weeks.

Starting to get supply issues and shortages now. And this is just the beginning...

I’ve been asking local O/O’s about revenue. They were already doing terrible. Lucky to clear $2000 after fuel. Leased on, no other costs besides Collision and BT insurance. They get fuel discount, somewhat of a surcharge. Still it’s not enough. They’re dying. I don’t know how they can pay for all the crazy high dollar repairs they talk about. Jobs I did for $800 parts, they’re paying $3000 or more. All adds up to bad business. I see 4 yr old Trucks, KW, Pete’s, not just Freightliners with less than 500k, selling for $20,000. That says a lot. Trucks are cheap. Repairs are high. Fuel is high. Sounds like a lot of changes are coming soon. Doesn’t look like it’s worth the effort. Crazy times for everyone it seems. Maybe I’m just getting old, maybe wiser? Maybe just pessimistic. IDK.

Well, haven’t gotten fuel in Illinois in a long time but is a heck of a lot cheaper than Tennessee and Kentucky.. Prices look pretty much the same but the state tax hides the real savings..I’ll pay the higher tax and put it back in my pocket when I file ifta.

Got to look at everything with a microscope now.
