I installed some additional utility lights, but I'm struggling to tap into the existing wiring. The last six of my VIN are NF2485. Any suggestions on how I can identify the existing utility light wiring and the best place to tap into it?

You can see the lights I installed on top of the lower fairings. I just need to tap them into the wiring of that utility light just left of center.

You may be better off building your own circuit.
That light should go through the Ssam and if it detects too large of an amp draw, then it will shut the circuit down.
The wires will run under the driver side sill plate.

Thanks. Will this work off the switch for the utility light or will it have a separate switch? Can you point me to a post with detailed instructions? I have never done anything like this before.

It would be easier to add new wiring directly off the battery and a key fob on off relay to turn them on/off

Freightliner wires are the size of pubic hairs, they re not deisgned to handle anything more than what came out the factory.

The plastic Pete I drove for a very short time had a check engine light problem.
Turns out somebody put some back up lights and the computer in the truck knew that their was something pulling more juice on the circuit.
Cut the wire the check engine light went out.

    KDHCryo Thanks this.

Hmmm, sounds risky. Are you suggesting I abandon the idea?

Hey OP. Looks like nobody helped you at all.

Anyway, I can show you the wiring to this component. Thanks for supplying the VIN.

I think there is a maximum of 10 amps on this circuit--but don't quote me on that. I'm not sure. You have a -006 variant.

The internal harness is here on the passenger side where the door sill area is next to the evault.

The connectors to the actual lights are here on the backwall:
