Not sure how it will cut down on air leaks. The wires still have to go to a valve that regulates the system, seems like an extra link in the chain versus just having the valve in the dash. Probably has more to do with making sure the truck doesn’t move unless you’re buckled in and the door is closed. Good thing they make the dummy plugs so the computer thinks the seat belt is buckled.

That's what Freightliner claims not me personally. Less potential for air leaks due to no air lines running up from the chasis into the cab/dash air valve which of course is gone too (relocated). Then the big one is no more rollaways from dummies forgetting to set their brakes.

I can’t imagine what nightmares these trucks will be after 10 or even 5 years with all this junk tech on them.

    ElmerFudpucker Thanks this.

I don’t think I’ll have to worry about 10, 7 will probably be max if even that long

Well that will make detaching and hooking up the lowbed all kinds of fun.

I'm sure it will work great if I'm wearing gloves, too. I can't answer my cell phone without taking them off, why would I need to release the parking brakes without them on?

    I'm so sick of this.

Have to get some of these so you don’t have to be buckled in for the truck to move.

Just talked to a guy on facebook who has one of the new volvos, and it has literally spent 50% of its life at a dealership entirely because of electrical issues, including:
    Dash goes crazy
    Cab and chassis suspension deflates
    Steering system malfunctions
    Mirror cameras crash
Total cab loss of electrical power
    Radio locking at full volume
Blind spot radars and emergency braking failing constantly
Electric airbrake release valves doing nothing
    Inability to slide trailer tandems

makes my T680 feel like a 90s hood truck by comparison.

D.Tibbitt, Opendeckin and Oxbow Thank this.

there’s a couple things I wanted to get out of, stability control, auto adjusting clutch etc, was told there’s no other option now, will definitely be a learning curve, my current truck doesn’t even have ABS, I am adding an extended warranty with everything tho
