Is it just me or is Walmart a shady shipper/receiver to drivers?

lie about appointment times. set unreasonable appointments then if u dont make it they set unreasonably long rescheduling like 5 days out. etc. lie about their association with sams club even. or when load is ready dont call you when say they will causing u to be late to 2nd stop at samsclub next door. etc.

all these things happened to me in my last totimes on walmart loads.

id like to hear your stories good or bad.

Just back into an empty door, walk out onto the dock, unload your trailer yourself, pull out of the dock, then give them their paperwork. You'll never have to worry about going back.

they've always had strange appointment windows, 15 minutes prior or 15 min after, only. not before or after.

Never had problems delivering there when I ran my own truck. They were one of the few grocery receivers I could count on to honor their appointment times and get a reefer unloaded in 2 hours or less. Several years ago they removed the driver from the hassle of paying a lumper fee. That's dealt with betweem them and the vendors now.

There's no scenario where Walmart would lie to you about your appointment time. That's doesn't really serve their interest. They need you there on time. They need every truck in and out on time. It's a well tuned machine. When you miss your appointment it sucks that it might get bumped a few days but they're all booked up with dozens of other trucks every day who show up on time that's a you problem not them.

The only people I can imagine lying about walmart delivery times are dispatchers and freight brokers. You can skip over them and call walmart yourself to verify the delivery appointment time on any load.

Walmart and Sam's club are two seperate entities. Started and owned by the same family of course but still two different worlds.

They do but they're two seperate corporate entities. Walmart associates can't tell you anything about a Sam's delivery and vice versa. If you need info about a Sam's appointment time Walmart can't help you, call Sam's.

Have to agree with @rollin coal.

Never have I had a problem with appointments However some locations vary on how early you can arrive. Sometimes they would take longer to unload and get me going down the road and other times quick as can be.

I deliver a lot to Sam’s in Lakeland, Fl and they have always gotten me in and out.

Another time in Los Lunas they went above and beyond and gave me a spot to park for my ten hour break..was so peaceful!! They don’t allow overnight parking to drivers so pack a good attitude and you may just be surprised.

They had messed up with my paperwork and abandoned me at the dock. They apologized and I said no worries just hard to find parking at this hour..”Well just go outback and find a quiet place to sleep”

My guess is that your broker messed up and gave you a recycled appointment time.
