Parked next to a step in back row of truck stop, went to sleep and woke up to this. I don't idle, have no apu and had zero interaction with anyone.mpow66m, Toomanybikes and TripleSix Thank this. -
Back in ‘95-‘96 I just finished having the truck washed down the road and I parked next to a truck and shut down at a local truck stop. I didn’t have working A/C back then to leave idling anyway. It was 90 something degrees and humid as heck after a week of on and off rains. Left windows down and went in for a big fountain drink and slice of pizza. I noticed that truck was shut down also. Ran into a couple guys I knew and shot the doo doo in the building for a while. When I came out the truck next to me was gone but mine was covered with the black streaks of death.
I didn’t relize I had parked next to a truck that had been there while the last big rains had gone through. He fired it up and boiled all that black water in the stacks out all over everything and ran like a bandit. I didn’t do anything wrong but boy did I take it personal for awhile.Oxbow, ElmerFudpucker, Speedy356 and 1 other person Thank this. -
There are quite a few drivers who don’t know how to pull straight forward. Have one right now sitting diagonally across from 2 fuel bays after pulling forward.
-
The problem is that you don't care if doing things the easy way for you makes things more difficult for everybody else. That's why us old guys struggle to have patience with younger drivers who have selfish attitudes.
With that kind of attitude, why should anybody go out of their way to take care of you? You're creating a self-fulfilling prophecy. -
You old guys are just as selfish stop acting better than others....close the blinds l and go to sleep it's very simple to not be bothered by others.... you're the most angry truckers I see out here...get over yourself
-
and of all the noises trucks make, the air starter is one of a kind!!
love hearing one of those get the big ‘ol truck cranked to life!!Oxbow, Big Road Skateboard and Numb Thank this. -
Yeah, us old guys who help others slide their tandems & 5th wheels, replace torn-off mud flaps, and guide you when you're blind-siding into a tight hole are selfish.

And we wouldn't be angry if we didn't have to put up with BS from other drivers with your mindset. -
Sir I have 14 years driving I didn't just start I don't hit people's equipment because I was taught by a good driver how to back and setup...so don't talk down to me about my mindset..if anything my attitude is from watching other veteran drivers act that way...
-
I don’t mean this in any condescending way at all. But 14 years means that you really don’t have an idea of how it used to be. You don’t know how things have changed. Some for the good, but there is a lot that is not so good. There really is a difference in driver attitudes. 25 years ago drivers were a whole lot more considerate of the divers around them. I don’t necessarily blame newer drivers for this. And yes 14 years is a newer driver. Things are just different now. So maybe when you point fingers at the old hands, just realize they are sorta mourning how things used to be. And to be honest some of the old ways were better.
