I’m team driving now but my partner may want to drive solo with his daughters company. I’m not sure I want that. I live in the Fort Worth, TX area. I would like weekly or at least bi weekly home time. I have over 3 years experience with dry van and reefer. I’m looking pretty hard at Poly Trucking and Tyson. I’m open to suggestions though. PM me if you want to keep your company private.
PS- I can take a bit of a pay cut but would like none to little lol. Currently averaging $2500 a week teaming. I know that may be a tall order solo
Going solo help!

I started as a team driver, it sucks. But you're not wrong about the money. If you're willing to keep driving team with whoever they put with you, there's a lot of companies looking for that. Don't know if you have the resources, but trucks are still on sale. I bought an older rig with a rebuilt motor. 13 speed, no auto. Lots of tinkering on my home time, but now I drive my own rig paid for. Not for everyone but I love my old Western Star a lot more than that new Pete I used to drive.
Food for thought.201 and jcarring99 Thank this. -
With 3 years experience....it might be time to start looking at the private fleets:
- Linde/Praxair
- Love's
- Air Products
- ADM (Archer Daniels Midland)
- Nalco Water (Ecolab)
- Brenntag

Good for you, you shan't regret it. You'll wonder why you didn't do this sooner. Lots and I mean LOTS of regional stuff, it's the local gigs that are hard to find. Chinatown will head you in the right direction, and with 3 years, don't be easily swayed by a company official, talk to the drivers, if you can. Internet reviews are usually pretty much BS, but 10 pages of bad reviews might mean something. Good luck.

To gross even $2,000.00 a week with a carrier that pays on a W - 2, means you need .70 per mile minimum with an average 3,000 miles per week.
A linehaul position with a LTL carrier or a private fleet ( Walmart, Tyson & DOT Foods) would be a good place to start. R & L Carriers and UPS have team driver positions.Speedy356 and jcarring99 Thank this.
