A purty good idea. A even better idea would be to revoke the licenses of those drivers who proceed after striking these warning devices.

 

Why doesn't the DOT's permanently resolve the problem and lower the Roadbed?

And split the Cost with the Railroad

They have something similar on I-93 in Boston. Overhead chains to warn over height vehicles,giving them a “last chance” to detour before going into the tunnels.
