May be the key, this willing to work cheap to start/learn. I hired a young fellow in say 1981. He just said, I want to work for y'all and learn how to fix forklifts. So we hired and I remember telling him that day.. "If you ever feel like asking for a raise, the answer will always be NO. We will let you know on a Friday in your check. Boy turned out good, worked over 12 years till we sold out. Married the girl who ran our office end.
Strange, he just called and said you chair is fixed. I had asked him to come by and bring 16" Rigid pipe wrench with good teeth, and a good dead blow hammer.. I needed to replace the pneumatic cylinder in my office chair I sit on at this computer. Chair under warranty and I had gotten the part.
He came, brought a 36" and hammer. We scuffled with it and he said... Sit down. I am gonna take this thing to the house and fix it, will bring it back tomorrow when I come to take you to the VA.
He left about 4:30, cause I cleaned up our mess in the floor and washed up, and went in to 5:00 o clock dining room. At 5:28 on my phone he said: Chair is fixed, bring it back at 10:30 tomorrow..
Google "How to replace the pneumatic cylinder in an office chair." Watch the video. New assembly is set the base on its casters on the floor. Stick the bottom of the cylinder into it. Set the assembled seat with arms on top of the end sticking up, sit down on it to set. No threads or fasteners.
Then read the reviews and comments. Worth the time.
Just taper fits..We spent an hour twisting with the pipe wrench and never got any movement.Oldman83, thatsright, sawmill and 8 others Thank this.
