That...... totally....... sucks...... Is your insurance going to cover the damages? After all, it was road damage plain and simple - and will be WAY over a deductible amount.

If it's any consolation at all, mine still has a broken subframe member, cracks clear up the front 2 inside corners of the hopper, 5 huck bolts pulled through the front hopper side slope from hammer damage, hairlines forming all over the hoppers, and a star crack forming on a frame rail - oh yeah, and a rear hopper support about busted in half. Other than that - she works real well :-D Amazing it passed a DOT in January, isn't it?!

That's not good but being it's Bar R trailer it shouldn't cost you anything....just your downtime which may be considerable

I hadn't thought about keeping weight off drives. I did have a heck of a time getting my drive axles legal...they rarely were.

I caught a break today....... and a compliment as well

I was going down a very rural road and in the middle of a 4 way intersection sits 2 full grown MO hwy patrols thaey flag for me to stop etc etc tels me they are doing a random check of every body going through there this afternoon cars and trucks
he asked me what I weighed and so on I told him right at 80 I loaded from a farm bin and really couldnt say for sure I said I use my right weigh gauge on the trailer so he takes my book of paperwork and goes back to the car
then I hear the other one say that "THE WEIGH WAGON CAN BE HERE IN ABOUT 30 MINUTES IF WE NEED HIM!!!!!!" he says tell him to work his way here we can always tell him not to worry about it so this guy looks at all my paperwork and really gave the truck a pretty thourogh inspection and thaen asks me how that air weigh thing works so I showed him and even admitted it looked like it could bbe just a tick heavy he then told me

"It looks like you keep a very well maintained truck and know how to load it as well" he then told the other one to "cancel the weigh wagon there is nothing wrong with this rig"

He handed me back my license and book then said have a nice day keep up the good work ha!!!!!!
    made my day.......

all this took about 20 minutes....... pretty thourogh for a random highway checkpoint I thought but it worked out all right for me lol

If only they all could go so well?.......

That's pretty good loading for a farmer.:biggrin_2559:Most farmers I know fill the trailer to the brim. However since you haul commercial you load differently.

It's good you keep your equipment up if not your experience might not have been as pleasant.

Hey Wheathauler you be nice to us farmers:biggrin_25514:
I admit there is a lot of farmers that load it to the top. I have done that myself at harvest, but then only had a few miles down a gravel road.

I agree totaly about keeping the truck and trailer clean and in good working order. Them inspectors can see we take care of our equipment.

I made a couple of runs to Wichita yesterday boy it was foggy as hell early morning and trying to find my delivery location out in the country by Bentley, KS was no fun. I was running down K42 and Hwy 2 seen a bunch of hoppers running back and forth and heard one driver say they had 100k bushel to move and he was loading at Attica.

Bill, I seen one of your trucks heading down 42, I small bunk white Pete with a short sided hopper. Also was your dad passing threw Harper, KS yeasterday afternoon? I seen a burgandy flattop Pete pulling a spread going threw town in the inside lane and some idiot passing him on the right in black flattop Pete pulling a hopper at a high rate of speed just to get in front of him.

Sorry to hear about your damage Kansas. I could have been a lot worse. Seen a guy that was pulling a new black sided wilson and already had damage to the rear of the trailer where he had backed into something.

Comark have been moving plenty of their grain from local elevators to make room for upcoming wheat harvest. Anthony Coop has an elevator in Attica, so I imagine it came from them. My son has been hauling Comark grain from Anthony,Ks elevator over to Wellington all week. Took some to an elevator in Wellington that Danville Coop bought a few years ago, might have been an old Cargill elevator(it had a flour mill). This week he has been hauling from Anthony to Wellington(Scoular Grain). If you see a 2000 Blue Pete with "Wheatridge" on the side, give him a holler on the CB, tell him your from the "trucking" site, and he will know where you got his information.

Yep John - you saw the boss man! Hard telling who it was trying to pass him, I've got a pretty good idea though and it wouldn't surprise me if it's who I think it was. One of these days if we cross paths at the right place and time I'll have to buy you lunch and tell some lies! :biggrin_25525:
