Yeah, this is unfolding as to what a colossal blunder, and a giant middle finger to the technology that was supposed to prevent this. At first, I thought perhaps an act of terrorism, in lieu of current events, but that has been ruled out. What I can't figure out, is who was driving the fire engine, and blindly crossed a live runway, and then there's the timing. Hollywood themselves couldn't produce it without several takes. The fire truck had no communication, apparently, and crossing a runway, don't you think one would see a plane landing? And then, until the airport closed, can you imagine the peoples reactions on another plane when seeing a crashed airplane? One thing for sure, it was quick and painless for those poor pilots, who went to work like any other day,,,,
mjd4277, hope not dumb twucker and JB7 Thank this. -
Problem they’re finding out is the NTSB mentioned this that in general fire departments at airports across the country the fire trucks generally have transponders on them none of the fire apparatus equipment at New York. LaGuardia has any transponders on there for ATC to be able to track them on the ground… i’m sure as the investigation proceeds. There’s gonna be a whole lot more crap come out that’s not gonna look very good
The NTSB mentioned yesterday that during one of the radio communications from the tower or something to that effect that there was somebody else chiming in on the channel, so it’s zeroed out communication between the tower and the fire truck. They’re not certain at this point who keyed up on the radio, but they said they’re gonna find that outmjd4277 and hope not dumb twucker Thank this.
