They have recently raised rates and that isn't that unusual of a rate for Saia linehaul. If it is nights it will be 100% drop and hook, however you will likely build and break sets on one end, if not both, unless it is a meet and turn.

Their trucks are fairly new. Safety is very firm and has high expectations. They run seniority based eventhough they are non-union so your bid can change.

My brother worked for them for a while. He loved it, but the job wouldn't have been for me. Too much repitition every night.

 

I am sure there is someone here that works for Saia that may be able to give you some insight.

I have been an owner operator for so long, companies I once thought were ok no longer are.

 

Random Midwest location posted currently. Look at the location on their website for where you want to work and you will probably see the current rate posted the recruiter gave you.

 

Ask about the runs and where they go, usually starting out you’ll run 150-200 miles to a hub and then return.

 

Probably a couple of drivers retired or retiring soon.
