Passed this place a lot delivering co2 to Des Moine. Acres of OLD ARN. Great fun wandering around junk yards

I have been so out of physical trucking so long and only keep up thru you guys here and a few who were in it in my time.
But we had a couple of expressions during my stint (7 yrs) in the small loan business.
"No business, is better than bad business..." You still have your capital..

And the difficulty in hiring employees... A young starter to chase down non payers, all lazy and dull...
"No outside man, is better than a sorry outside man.." You still have the salary money..

I know each one of you as OOs' are in a different position, fuel cost up, rates poor, and shippers still do not give a xxxx about your needs.
But it may be time to consider @Dave-in-AZ and @Judge's comments. On slowing it down a little and surveying the scene as it is.
Run like hell, wear yourself out and the equipment, to no end a year from now, having to shut and sell...
Shut and sell soon as you can even up a little and get out from under..
Or, take only a reasonable and profitable load to keep a cash dribble.
None are a solution, but each of you will wind up at one of them...
Those on here who grub around into my post will recall
I have been predicting a massive downturn for over a year, as credit was exorbitant, no one was operating in a conservative manner (That you are about to have to), there is/was less value in products, in production efforts. Yet people bought sorry quality, at higher cost, and demanded a bigger paycheck. It only works for a while, reconsider what 2008 was like. Business just sorta unwound and finally closed. until a sort of bottom failure was reached and some woke up and begin to "Do Business" again and it repeated...

(End of sermon from the old and out of touch department,)

Driver responsibility to make sure proper documents are in vehicle. Highway patrol informed me of that out in deep east Texas.

Caught up. Didn’t accomplish much today. But that’s ok. Need to go out to sisters and look at dads car. Supposedly has a coolant leak. Several people borrowed it when their junk was down but now that it’s down nobody cares.

I'd be more interested in how much firepower he could lay down 18 or 42. Them on medicinal level MJ might eliminate the need for the old Atropine Syrette's in case of gas, just smoke a bong as you advance. Leak it that the enemy has some high quality stashed just behind the target...

Me being on the porch put it in motion, so after I waited a minute to be sure it left because it went out of my view I continued going to work.

If I were still in the game, I would look at parking and doing spring chores until a week after Easter.

Figure by then the powers that be will find divine inspiration and adjust spot market to cover fuel costs. My experience is it takes 2 to 3 weeks for the office drones to figure out something needs fixing because of national/world events, even when said events are the major headlines for a couple of weeks.
