Texas DPS Medical Certification

    Just got back from the doctor after having my med cert renewed. Has the process changed. It doesn't appear that I have to do anything regarding the reporting/filing process. I'm guessing all reporting to the State is now done by the examiner using their fancy thinkin' box.

    Yes, the examiner sends the info to FMCSA who then forwards it to the state.

    Yes, you no longer fax/email your paperwork to the state. The doctor's office does all of that now. I would still contact the state in a few days to confirm they got your info, since if the doctor's office forgets your license is downgraded and that could get you arrested road-side.

    Last time I went in there they told me that I no longer had to take the form to the DPS office, they said they would send it in for me.
