Does Walmart have driver facing cameras? I run under my own authority, have been an O/O 25 years. Im now in my upper 40's. I applied for Shelby NC Walmart DC. I have to schedule a time for a digital review or something.....

No they don't. Sounds like you've got an interview. Congrats, job's pretty much in the bag now as long as you pass that and then onboarding. They're just going to talk with you about the job.

I was never contacted by a recruiter for an interview. My interview was canceled and received a conditional offer going into backgrounds right after.

If I didn’t live 240 miles from the closest DC I would apply to WM as well.

Yeah if it's more than an hour from the house I ain't working there either. Lotta drivers do but not me. Not uprooting and moving anywhere for anything either. I leased on to a company once that was 750 miles from the house but that's different than working on a W2 for somebody.

Still running my background, should have a start date sometime this week. Been debating on whether I want to leave the tanker world and go to Walmart. Or turn them down and try to get a local fuel job.

I can't encourage the local fuel job idea....unless said job is with a private fleet.

Outside the private fleets -- the competition for business is (in many cases) simply too cutthroat. This problem adversely affects your pay...& bennies.

I’m guessing cryo is the same way? I was contacted by air products and messer recruiters. But once i told them I was out of state and was open to relocating they rejected my application. They said hiring manager wants drivers already in the area. Same thing with RB Stewart when the recruiter called.

Least I’m getting some sort of traction with the private fleets.

In your situation -- I would check into doing cryogenics with the Kenan Advantage Group (KAG) -- within their "Merchant Gas" division. They have a cryo terminal in/near Fontana, CA:

Industrial Gas Transportation and Logistics Solutions | KAG

Those guys will hire you for cryo -- pretty much no matter where you live (except for maybe Maine...or southern FL).

Yeah, ok....they're not a private fleet -- but they would give you an opportunity to "sample" the cryo world -- without having to pack up & move to TX....& a move to TX without a job already in hand.

Worst case scenario: you drive for KAG for say....12 to 15 months...but don't like driving for them. If you maintain a good safety record -- that experience (along with your oilfield work) would later allow you to pretty much write your own ticket, elsewhere: with a cryo (or fuel) private fleet....or even <<<gulp>>> Wallyworld.

    Think about it....
