@Chinatown he only asked what to expect in school.
Congratulations! Getting your CLP is darn near half the battle. Have you obtained a DOT medical certificate as well? I don't know how much trucking schools have changed their curriculum since the last time I've attended, so I can't really tell you what to expect. You'll learn HOS Rules, how to maintain a Logbook, Pre-Trip Inspection, Coupling/Uncoupling, Straightline backing/offset docking maneuvers, driving that'll allow you to pass the road tests and maybe how to shift a manual transmission.Last edited: Mar 29, 2026 at 10:28 PM

Thank you. Yessir. DOT Med card, CLP, and TSA background. This school teaches manual transmission. I'm excited to start this journey. I just hope its lucrative and I'm not too old to start a new chapter.BrothaTrucka513 Thanks this. -

You're young for trucking. Age is no barrier in trucking, unless you're too young.
Being an older person is an asset.
Lots of drivers out there in their 70's & 80's.RhodeGuy762 Thanks this. -
