Company charging driver

I might do it occasionally. Daily? Ain't happening.

 

Are they willing to write a EFS check for you to cash each week to cover it? And then you just turn in the receipts to avoid the deduction

That would be annoying still though. Takes 30 seconds to scale on the app. Takes 10 minutes to scale, park, walk in, pay, etc

 

The pain in your head won't stop if you keep banging your head against the wall.

 

I believe you can still use the Cat Scale app just by having it charge to your credit card and then seeking reimbursement. That would avoid the hassle of parking and going inside, etc.

 

right weigh load gauges in the dash and on the trailer takes the guess work out & reduces needing to hit a scale unless you are pushing max weight. Assuming you aren't shuffling trailers every day.

my total cost was $280 for 1 trk & trlr, plumbing the trailer into the dash with a quick disconnect kit too.

 

When I started you could only pay for CAT scales by cash. The companies I worked for ALWAYS reimbursed every receipt on the next paycheck. The company also allowed drivers that chose to do it to get a cash advance. So you could spend company money for scales or you could spend your own money and get reimbursed.

 

I have never had a truck driving job where I could carry around the bosses wallet with me to cover all expenses incurred during buisness.

You pick up a trailer were the light is burned out, do you cry you can't take it? Take it and risk a ticket or accident? Or do you just walk in the truck stop and buy a light and bill the company?

 

Company should be supplying driver with a cash float if the the driver is going to be needing cash for scales, tolls etc
I would not put a dime out of pocket. Just tell dispatch “ I’m a truck driver, I have no cash and no credit card”

 

My brother in-law is on the household staff for a wealthy man who told him to put the household purchases on my BIL's credit card and it would be reimbursed each month, which it was. All $15,000 of it. Bro didn't have any credit left over to buy things for his own family.

So sis went down and had a talk with the "head MF'er in charge" and things got straightened out. A separate credit card was issued.
