Did you watch the video in post #4? He gives you a measurement range to cut the rod. I would start with the shortest cut first and connect everything and see where things are at.
Call Bendix and ask what applications take a short or long stroke chamber. Check other trailers.
What does the brake lining look like?
Purpose of the Orange Mark:
- Excessive Stroke Warning: If the orange paint is visible on the push rod when the brakes are applied, it indicates that the brakes are out of adjustment or in need of service.
Help determine 3030 push rod length

Yup. All are round port 2.5”. Everything is new except the air chambers. I’ll give try what the video said

Very possible the chambers have been changed in years past and the rods were cut to incorrect length, I’ve ran into that problem before….Big Road Skateboard Thanks this. -
Or guys just never cut the rods, especiallyon trailers. "If it fits, it ships"JB7 and OLDSKOOLERnWV Thank this.

You have the short stroke chambers. Under no circumstances should the orange be showing if the brakes are properly adjusted, the angle is at 90 degrees. I'm wondering if your trailer should have long stroke. If you can find the trailer VIN, East trailer should be able to tell you what stroke your trailer takes. Or who made the original brakes and then call the brake manufacturer. Or check with a parts house.

Lots of trailers also take a longer rod than what comes on a standard brake chamber.
It's about 4" longer than standard.JB7 Thanks this.
