Menards are in a class by themselves. You can show up at any time during their regular receiving hours and it doesn't even matter what day either. No appointments. They always take delivery. The bad thing about Menards is they hire a lot of kids to work shipping/receiving. So you better count everything yourself if you don't want to have to backtrack.

I am doing a van, they just use a battery powered pallet jack to unload and I guess anybody can do it, since no forklift certification is needed. That probably explains it why my service was so quick. I can imagine finding a forklift operator to unload a flat being problematic in all those stores

Man, I better not say how you get treated at HD when you have a contract hauling from the DC to the stores. Lol.

Back in the old days when Plum Creek had the contract for studs we’d load out of Kalispell to the DC down in Utah. They’d start unloading us from the front and as a guy was unloading another guy was bringing out our order going to one of the stores in Montana and would toss it on the trailer. Then when we’d get to the stores it didn’t matter how early we were, they’d start on us. Bozeman and Missoula we could run straight from UT and get unloaded that night. Great Falls and Kalispell we’d unload the next morning. I’m not sure how many loads I’ve hauled for Home Depot over the course of 10 years but it was a lot and I never had any issues.
