I was contacted by a KAG recruiter, and they offered me a food grade OTR position. When I put in for cryo.
These companies that contacted me were in the Houston area. Since I’m thinking about relocating out there. But I also read that the Houston area is very competitive as well for local private fleet tanker work.

Anyway....this is a Walmart thread -- & we've segued off topic.
If you later get an invitation to Walmart's "on-boarding"...do come back to this thread....& let us know.
-- L48Packard Thanks this. -
If you leave Wally in good standing then you can come back. At least you could a few years ago. We had a couple of drivers at my old DC leave then come back but this was before 'on boarding' so I don't know if you'd have to go through all that again.
rollin coal Thanks this. -
Yeah he could come back leaving in good standing but would have to go through onboarding again. It's not an obstacle though it's like riding a bike you don't forget how.

The perks here are nice imo. Unmatched anywhere else and it's not even close. I couldn't begin to list them all some get taken for granted. I was reading a thread in here a day or two ago some driver was posting how he was lower seniority at an LTL with work being slow and was getting rude comments from more senior drivers jealous that he was getting work suggesting he look at jobs elsewhere among other things. Wow... nice toxic environment there.. That crap don't happen at Walmart. There's respect here and it wouldn't be tolerated for one thing but for another there's so much work here they gotta farm a bunch of it out.Last edited: Mar 30, 2026

Going to onboarding next Monday. How helpful is it to upload everything on mywalmart before onboarding starts? Direct deposit and i-9 etc.
-
Pass the on-boarding process 1st -- then offer financial info, after that.
The "wash out" rate at on-boarding is roughly 50%....+/-...so I gather.

Yeah Lual's right, hold your horses. You're headed to Seymour for onboarding?

Had my first screw up at WM. No, I didn’t hit anything. But I inadvertently submitted my arrival call two minutes early at a stop. I don’t normally do so until I dock the unit, but this stop required backing in from the street and while waiting for traffic to clear, Mr. Efficiency boo-booed. I knew better, too…that’s the frustrating part of it. It was a 1300-2200 store and I “arrived” at 12:57:40.
Otherwise, I just wrapped up my most financially productive pay period.

ArmyGuy, JForce28, navypoppop and 1 other person Thank this. -
Call your coordinator and let them know. As long as the freight's not been scanned in you aren't early. If you ever get a load that's going to be an hour early you have to hit arrive so you get paid your wait time but you don't bump the dock until an hour after that, and call the coordinator to let them know of course.
FullMetalJacket and 48Packard Thank this.
