Not sure what trailer ur pulling but in the open deck world i dont move the truck unless i got a contact for reciever. Because most the times were going to jobsites or places with no address or showing up to a site where they need to know ahead of time ur gonna be there so they can send someone to unload... The biggest problems that happen in this industry is lack of communication. And its one of the easieat things to take care of on your end.
Concorde, Folk Fries and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
I took a load once to the Home Depot DC in Winchester Va. Delivered unfinished lumber and loaded finished flooring at the same facility. No DH. It was a Friday. I was happy. Had to deliver direcr. Told they would accept the load ASAP. I ran straight there, arrived at H.D.and was told no delivery till Monday. I convinced the Broker I was taking it back to the Shipper. They had me deliver to a nearby warehouse. The Broker then short paid me by $300 for warehouse fee. Last time we worked together. They set me up. My fault for allowing it to happen.

Nothing you said applied to my circumstances so go back to eating paint chips in the corner.

Layover has always been fair with them and overall they're a good brokerage. I definitely lean in the direction of what you said about kicking up the feet and not having a heart attack at the pump for a few days, haha.
Luckily they squared it away overnight, I saw the email this am, so as tempting as it is to hear the stutter when I say "sorry can't make that appt" haha I'll refrain and go back to workConcorde Thanks this. -
Thanks for the input, yes I have a framework similar to what you outlined that adjusts based on the depth and duration of the relationship I have with the broker. Which is to say there's still a lot of good people in this industry where a phone call and a verbal agreement are more than enough for me. And after I get the ratecon I'll give it a skim and proceed on my merry way to complain on the internet for situations that arise less than 1% of the time.

Yeah, flatbed's a whole different world than reefer. I'd take the comments about communication seriously if they were followed with points about the actual circumstance I presented. But no skin off my back.D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

It's a tough pill to swallow when someone nukes a good relationship.Concorde Thanks this.

Excellent!
I had one not too long ago and went into panic mode because the receiver is known to reschedule a week or two out of. All got squared away quickly and I only sat two days and got $600 layover. Not the greatest money but I knew what I signed up for..Ended up worrying for nothing.
I had fudge cookies so that’s what probably sped things up. Was in Florida during the summer like 100 degrees.
Glad it worked out for you!Folk Fries Thanks this. -
With van and reefer it’s a different world. Some places we can call but I find a lot that don’t want to be bothered and they will say so on the rate con..”Do not call shipper or receiver”
I have never made any calls and only had one issue over the years.D.Tibbitt Thanks this.
