Anybody happen to know at what weight a steer axle requires an assist cylinder or dual boxes? Really think this truck would look cool with 385's up front.

Feedman, Oxbow and Big Road Skateboard Thank this.

I have guys running 385s on a standard 12k axle.
Twin boxes usually happen around 16-18k

We have 315s on our dump truck, and changes the look quite a bit without going overboard so much. I assume you are never going to actually need the weight capacity for what you are doing with it.

I may need it, haven't decided yet. It's getting a different steer axle anyways because I don't want to deal with the expense and time of doing kingpins and converting over to hub pilots.

    Feedman and Oxbow Thank this.
