Respectfully, I don't feel I did anything wrong. I've had my clock cleaned more than enough and you're right there's some bad dudes out there that can and will light me up. I accept that.
But I come from a background of it takes a village... when I was young I egged a man's house. He chased me down the street and slapped some sense into me. One good open hand slap. That man was a hero.
I have zero tolerance for disrespecting women and children. Zero. Every year I bring a kid out here during spring break or summer. And for me, if a guy whips it out in an occupied public place and he's clearly not stupid drunk or mental then my own hand is going to attempt to make contact with his face.
I understand it's not for everyone. But it is for me.
Also a sincere thank you for the compliment I've been infatuated with poetry since Where the Sidewalk Ends in 1st grade and have never stopped being a part of that world.
And thank you for the respect in how you presented your words of warning and critique.

Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent.
In your case, it was a first response.
Such a small mind is very sad. -
I've done it myself. Saw others do it as well. Business as usual as far as Im concerned. Im surprised all you think this is a special occasion.

the reason it is so commonplace, is people stopped reacting in a negative way whether it be from fear of violence or whatever and that only reinforces bad behavior.
see something say something.
I do and I'm a fat old fart.

"Never argue with an idiot; he will pull you down to his level and beat you with experience".
You called him out on his disgusting behavior, that was plenty. Get on with your day and don't risk a ride in a cop car, or a ride in a hearse. There's too many people like him for you to police them all anyway. -
I would have took a picture or two and sent them to his company.

Proper channels, I like that much better.
