What you don't understand for NON-MOVING VIOLATION? GOOGLE IT. and it is zero points once I attend the traffic course.

Here i just google it for you.

A zero-point non-moving violation (such as parking tickets, expired registration, or a broken taillight) generally does not make it significantly harder to find a CDL-A job, especially if it is an isolated incident.

No, it isn't the points; it is the violation that matters. The points are assessed as a punishment for a conviction of the violation.

It's a non-moving violation. Still a deal breaker? It's going to be zero points.

Apply for the job. If you get the job-great. If they say no because of the ticket, well there's your answer. Good luck.

You have one year under your belt and think you know better than those with decades of experience??? Best advice is stop doing dumb stuff that get points in the first place...

Why are you asking strangers on the internet if all you are going to do is argue with them? Speak directly with whatever state your license comes from and tell them they are wrong if you don't like the answer. We can only read what you type. If you leave out important details, we can't insert it for you. No School for CDL drivers has been the law for a long time 10-20 years. MOST easy to find info from states talk about car drivers issues and car driver licenses. It's possible that is causing confusion or it may not. WI may do something in their state but the other states will not observe the decision WI makes. I don't know I'm not a lawyer. If you have a lawyer why on earth are you asking non-lawyers legal questions. WTAF?

You came into a truck driver forum and posted a question and you expected to hear a legal opinion from a lawyer?
Do you know what a truck driver forum is? Why not go argue with members in a lawyer forum?

    Trucker61016 and Concorde Thank this.

Ask a question and argue with almost everyone that answers. That's exactly what we should expect.

Over 45 years of hiring drivers before retiring in 2022.

The points won't matter when the company reviews your MVR; the points are state issued.

What the company has to follow IS their insurance company guidelines which may vary from company to company.

Most insurance only looks at the past three years and allow for the fact that not every driver is great 100% of the time.

Many will indicate the applicant MAY have 1 or 2 moving violations and 1 'at fault' accident and some add additional prohibitions for items like 'reckless driving', speed 15 over, crimes while driving a CMV, etc.

    To put it lightly:

Don't sweat the petty stuff and don't pet the sweaty stuff.

Most safety professionals may discount the non-moving violation -or- will know it is part of the accident as it probably was issued on the same date, etc.

OP start by making absolutely sure you do your best to prevent additional situations and stay clean.

State point clearing schools won't erase the entries on your MVR so you can't hide your record.

Look at this as your wake-up to do better and it will pass on.

    Two additional thoughts.

Always remember to obtain the PD report to ANY accident as having the report will possibly save you when one of two are not 'at fault' and you are asked to prove that for a new company.

    also

States vary on their MVR reporting timespans; New Jersey doesn't erase old violations until their old and slow computer turns the page and a whole page of 'sins' disappears BUT insurance usually only looks back 3 years [DUI/DWI and fatalities longer] despite what gets printed so this will disappear as time heals all.
