extremly helpful when you REALLY need directions. One of my old favorite radios is a General Lee, with the Old Motorola finals

Some trucking jobs still use them every day for jobsite communication. Dump truck world still lives on them. ( you literally can’t do the job without one) In the pick up yard and delivery site. Heck even some of the site Forman have them in there pickups, in the cabs of loading equipment and the tower of asphalt plants.

I used them several times a month while running flatbed too for pickup and delivery instructions.

For van work it’s mostly just for BSing while waiting for a dock assignment or traffic situations.

I heard about an accident this morning on ch. 19 far enough ahead where I could still take an easy route around it.

“But, but… You’re paid by the hour. You would’ve been paid more if you sat in traffic.”

Perhaps, but who the hell wants to do that?
