Where is everyone #5

I was always one of the first off the bus, this particular day my cousin April was the last one off the bus.

I was walking up the school steps when it happened. It was confusing to say the least since it was just a normal day.

After the dust settled and the investigation was over, it was determined that the bottom draw string on her dads zip up cost had got caught in the bus door, and the knot would not pull through the seal causing the bus to drag her down the street.

When the string finally gave way to her body weight, my cousin rolled across the curb where the dual wheels ran over her chest and head. It was a bad day for everyone involved. RIP April….


Things like this is why I’m such a hard a ss when it comes to being safe. The smallest things can make the biggest disasters. This post and pic is from her older sister….

 

We live a mile from each other n only time we meet is at the kill plant.

 

That is near London, KY. Storm went thru that area a year or so ago, caused quite some damage...

 

Yes Sir London Truckstop is exit 41, I was at exit 49. There’s another old style truckstop at exit 59 that has decent food. Can’t see it from the big road so I’m sure many pass it on by….

 

That's heartbreaking, can't imagine being a parent or the bus driver. A sad day indeed.

I always liked the 49er . Food was good and seems I could always find a decent parking spot. My daughter lives east of there in Thousandsticks , KY.

 

Yes food good for sure. Little nicer with the dining area now….

 

Mr. Mays was our driver, not far from retirement. I heard he about lost his mind, he was kneeling crying his eyes out….

 

Yeah, I can see that much being on @stwik 's flapjacks. Much better to soak into the dough. Umm...doesn't @stwik NOT like butter.

 

That’s terrible… Glad they are still remembering.

Hopefully not bringing up other bad news but, you had a story you posted about a little girl with a serious infection a year or so ago? Is there in update to that I missed?
