Yes keep listening to lies at the coffee counter at the truck stops When I started I had several guys tell me they put it in Georgia overdrive (knocking it out of gear)going down mountains .So like a D.A. I did it going down Saluda mountain on I 26 at NC and SC line around 3am one night I only had 20,000lbs on and didn’t think it was ever going to slow down held on for dear life praying the wheels didn’t come off that 1987 KW.That’s when I stopped believing lying as@ truck drivers

Well, I did both, a tug test upon the initial hook, and a short roll pulling the Johnny bar, to make sure it's hooked and to see what kind of brakes I had, if any. A walk around after hooking up should see a "high hook".

Almost every automated manual is capable of it AND gets it back in gear. Lol and here I thought all that was illegal.

Technically they disengage the clutch and don’t kick into neutral.

Omg, that's awesome, the best way to use it in a manual is to just push the clutch pedal in...sure it'll ruin the clutch forks, but at least you won't have to fuss with the stick gliding around in neutral position tryna to get it back into gear.

    drivers aged between 60-75.

older trucks tend to have the johnny bar vs the newer trucks being optioned without.

I hear it more from pre emissions truck drivers, but ive also seen them do it in new edge trucks.
