Where is everyone #5

Hey quick question… @wore out …. Or anyone else… what is the oil pressure suppose to be in a B model? Seems all good till hot idle… seems like it’s about 12 on the gauge at a super low idle and the buzzer comes on.. if I goose the throttle it kicks the idle up a bit and buzzer goes off…. It’s got clean oil in it but I have no idea what weight it is… what should I be running for oil?

 

The buzzer comes on at 12. If it’s all good till hot idle it’s gonna be the top rod bearings they wear the most. I would do a bottom job and inspect the pump.

Now I said that with confidence but the rod bearings will cause a good oil pressure at cold idle lets say 40 then the warmer it gets the more you loose. I personally don’t want to see below 20-25 at hot idle

 

You can watch it run with the covers off and make sure you’re not loosing a gross amount around the rocker shafts and Jake’s if equipped. I always do that to be sure. Then I check my oil pressure at front of block where the compressor gets its lube and the back right corner make sure they are within 5 then I go to the bottom

 

I might need someone to come take a closer look at the pump once I get it cleaned up a bit… there’s beer and ice cream in the shop fridge if you know someone?
Seems to run ok bobtail and has surprising small amount of leaks…

Think I got some algae in the fuel so we’re working through that first off.

 

Got in a little bit of a hike today. It was low 80's as I came across 2 yesterday. It's been warm enough here the bears have made their way out.

I'm assuming this is a griz track. I couldn't find a rear track to measure up. If not, it's a hell of big black bear.
