I've been driving local for a little over 3 years. Like my current part time gig moving equipment and supplies for a custom home builder.

In the past I've driven wreckers, appliance delivery box trucks and a walking floor end dump.

Considering otr again (pulled reefer for a mega for a year in 2022/23) but nothing seems to pay well?

My friend has been with k&b for a few weeks now. He seems to be happy.

I can't find anything that looks better, so help me out? 70/mi with a $1600/week guarantee.

Is there anything better? I have 1 year otr, another year local 53' trailer and 2 years of what I would call local hotshot.

I know you're all gonna hate reefer, been there. It sucks but if that's where the money is...

Personally if my dog were still around l, the no pet rider would be a deal breaker but he's been gone for over a year.

I love reefer driving and hazmat tanker driving, both OTR. Did OTR reefers for 18 years with no regrets.

    Thedave35 Thanks this.

Where is your location? Ok, missed it; you're in Florida. Are you North or South of Interstate 4? Maybe a few drivers on here from your area and can give good recommendation on reefer and hazmat tanker companies.

K&B has guaranteed pay; is that correct.

Only type companies I can think of that probably better, pay wise, are linehaul companies that pull doubles. R&L Carriers is one example of several.

I am south of i4. Fort Myers.

I am Auto restricted with no endorsement. So unfortunately doubles are out.

I was looking at ats heavy haul but they want 6 years otr experience. They also want 2 years over dimensional experience. I've hauled a few loads oversize.

K&B might be your best option then.
The guaranteed pay seems an excellent option.

Take a look at Heyl Truck Lines too. They are based in Iowa, but have a terminal in Zephyrhills.

Your friend at K&B likely hasn't been there long enough to have a reliable recommendation. K&B is kind of famous for advertising the $1600/week guarantee but few drivers are meeting the conditions which trigger the 'guarantee'. If someone on the forum has worked for K&B for a considerable period and what I describe has changed, then consider them. I've heard that slaughter houses are awful places to get loaded, but I haven't gone there so I could be wrong.
