This issue would’ve made a great season of The Wire. McNulty and Freemon would’ve had this case cracked in 8 episodes

So it isn't like chameleon carriers just happened. That is a regular practice so much more than anybody ever knew. Its just the first time it's been on a platform like 60 Minutes. I'm not so sure the topic of chameleon carriers would have ever been brought up if there weren't foreign owned and operated companies. Many small, cheap low quality American companies have been doing this for years. Matter of fact, I came across a guy that changed his name and numbers when one of his drivers had a bad accident.

It's hard to for me to feel sorry for some of these drivers getting scammed out of their cash. I don't know how they can think that they can operate a business with no capital. No driver that has capital and understands the industry would even consider leasing a truck with Super Ego. By the way, why is Super Ego being singled for the way their lease is? How many companies were scamming drivers with lease purchase before Super Ego came about? Don't get it twisted, I don't support these practices of Super Ego, but I'm not going to act like what they're doing is something brand new.

Now these folks want to do something about a problem that was created by the United States..... they make it to easy for people to get authority and the gentleman in the video who made the "front door" comment was spot on. You gotta get ahead of these practices. If Super Ego is in a class action lawsuit, then in my opinion, the US Government should be included as well because their regulations and qualifications, or lack thereof, is the reason Super Ego exists.

Federal lawsuit means it was filed in Federal Court, not that it was filed by federal government.

It was filled in 2022, so 4 years ago a private lawsuit was filed in federal court. Not what I call tractive. FMSCA has likely had complaints going back many years before 2022 and has not done a thing.

The most laughable misreported part of the story was how Super Ego has lots of Fortune 500 companies as customers. They have zero direct customers their freight comes 100% from spot market freight brokers.

A few months ago RXO posted a load on DAT that was 0 miles for $450 or something. I was close by and free so I bit. It was at a local brewery. All they needed was for me to hook to a loaded Super Ego trailer and drag it across the lot to a door. 5 minutes for a few hundred.

In that 5 minutes that I hitched, moved and dropped that trailer it I found it to be the most unsafe, POS, falling apart trailer I've ever been around. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING about it was abused, broken, rusted out worn out crap. I drove away scratching my head at how they get away with it.

CR England and others have been doing this crap since deregulation. When the dust settles, this will be a double cheese nothing burger! Nothing will change EVER! (except names on doors and trailers)
