Let's add an unforeseen quick stop at Bauer tire for the trailer I was picking up. Of course there's 17 fence loads on the drop yard and I drew the short straw.

Dispatch gave me a call yesterday..
"Put on your thinking cap, do you recall a load you hauled in February from Compton to San Angelo"
Before answering I thought to myself. Sir, I've never forgotten a load. Couldn't tell you what time "the thing" is that I've been told about 12 times in the last 3 days. But shippers & receivers .. iron trap.
He said he was having communication issues with the point of contact and needed intel on the product and how I felt about the place.
Product: crated bar stock
Shipper: generally ok
Receiver: unloaded crated bar stock in a timely mannerrokue, Knucklehead and runningman0661 Thank this. -
This is worrisome. Finding an empty at the yard is roughly like fighting a grizzly in the woods at night. For a week or so, there has been a buttload of empties and the loaded lines are lacking. This is ugly.
Knucklehead Thanks this. -
It’s tax time. Inventories and production fluctuate….

I believe most of those trailers were just Kawasaki loads. I could be wrong.
-
The previous call from dispatch foreshadowed my load. Currently en route from Compton to San Angelo. Load delivers Wednesday between 8-10a.

Home Depot in Joliet you can't get a empty from Friday to Sunday. Monday-thursday. Only. They cut back at the empty yard.
