I wholeheartedly agree with everything you said. I was wondering why he'd want to leave his current situation if he's making that type of money? He'd be set back another year and some change when acquiring the Class A and working OTR when he could've just been making 27 an hour at his current job and probably would've been eligible for a raise in that timeframe. Everytime one leaves a job, they start back at the bottom of the totum. If you can stick it out for 4 years at your current job, they'll do anything that have to do in order to keep you

When I was 13, I was out and about in my neighborhood on my bicycle when I saw some road construction equipment parked in a recently disked up field. I had to have a closer look at the front loader and other machinery.

When I got there a man was outside of his fuel truck and he was fueling this equipment. I must have asked him a dozen questions about his job and he replied in a friendly manner.

Eventually I went along my way. Many years later, I began thinking how cool it would be to arrive on site after everyone had left for the day and be left alone to do your job as the fuel guy.

Instead I became a steering wheel holder.

Hector is only 20 years old and that's much too young to be stuck in a job. His brain will rot being in a rut at that young age. A few people I went to high school with did that and they're all dead now.

He's too young for stable employment? He's more susceptible to catching his death if he stays at one job way too long? My uncle Jerry retired from Ready-mix driving 5 years ago and he's still kicking. He'd been doing it since I was a child. Don't lead the boy astray

I didn't say he's too young for stable employment. It's not healthy to be stuck inside your zip code an entire life. Men and women should expand their horizons. Life only comes around one time.

It's not healthy to stay in your zip code? That's what the weekends and vacations are reserved for. Right now he's able to enjoy his time at home and travel outside of his city on his days off if chooses to do that. I wouldn't say that living in a mobile box is any healthier either @Chinatown
A lot OTR drivers I know are overweight (w/ high blood pressure), mentally unstable and have teeth like chic-lets. Like I said... if Ready-mix near me was paying that much, I'd have stayed put

To quote the Dude that’s your opinion man.Your statement could be true or false that what an opinion is.How long is to long where’s the imaginary line. There’s a lot of factors that you have to take into consideration like job growth potential and I know several guys in there 50s that have literally stayed on the same local job there whole career and seem very happy and don’t feel like they missed anything by not going OTR and sacrifice family time.a job doesn’t define you it’s only what you do that’s it.The one who let there job define themselves are the ones that could have issues

@hectoralexanderalv be careful of listening to users who will spam you with potential employer suggestions when they've never worked for any of the places they've listed

I also prefer women to not wear makeup. Natural look is more beautiful.

Recommending companies and letting someone know which companies are available in their area are two different subjects.
