Well, I tried. The new kid is gone.
Second day, my wife looked him in the eye and told him if he was on his phone again, she’d throw it in the raceway. I do love a redhead, but, sheesh!
Third day, catch him on his phone again. Tell him he doesn’t get anymore chances. You suppose he’d take the hint?
Fifth day, foreman catches him walking behind a building to mess with his phone.
He just couldn’t understand why he was asked to vacate the premises. At least our record of 0 for six on home schooled kids stands, lol. What is wrong with these kids?
New gal starting on Wednesday. Sheriff’s daughter. I hope that’s not like a Preacher’s kid. I can tell stories from back in college….. but not in polite company.
Putting the ‘19 T680 back in service on Monday. Getting too many runs on the calendar for just the one truck. Fortunately one of my old hands was looking for some extra work, so I don’t have to train a driver. Three years of next to no work on that truck makes me nervous, but we’ll put her in the shop for a thorough once over. See what’s dry rotted and all.

Least he didn’t take out all three outside drives on the drivers side of a Vac truck—23 years old with a brand new CDL and there ain’t a thing that anyone has done that he ain’t done— twice— only thing I could think of to say at the time is “You’re one handy MF’er — now get away from me”
